Sci-fi movies have dictated for decades that any screen that is curved must be futuristic. LG is finally bringing that fantasy to life with its EA9800 55-inch Curved OLED TV — a first from any company. Available at over 1,400 locations worldwide, the EA9800 is as thin as it is light. It’s razor-thin at 0.17-inches and it weighs only 37 pounds. The company claims the slight curvature to the screen provides an “IMAX-like” experience and the display is capable of producing realistic images using proprietary WRGB technology that includes a white pixel in addition to the standard red, blue and green dots. The curve comes at a cost, though: $13,500.
