Santa Teresa 1796 Rum

Ron Santa Teresa in Venezuela is making one of the world’s best rum, Santa Teresa 1796 Rum. This is the only rum aged through the ancient solera method, which is mainly used for Spanish sherry and brandy. This method involves fractional blending, in which the end product is a mixture of gradually increasing ages throughout the process.

Upon first tasting this molasses based rum, the nose is of honey and cocoa, and the initial taste is warm rich toffee and caramel. The finish is of oak and nuts and is paired great with dark chocolate. This is a premium sipping rum and is best served neat or on the rocks.

For mixing, try using this instead of bourbon for a Manhattan.
