TAG Heuer Monaco Watch

We caught the watch bug while watching Steve McQueen in the film, Le Mans. The movie star was quite the cool customer and his watch was something we’ve never seen before. The TAG Heuer Monaco was made in 1969 and meant for the design centric crowd and not racing. However, Steve McQueen created an icon with his film. It’s worth mentioning that Sammy Davis Jr. was the first movie star to wear this watch. The square chronograph is an oldie, but the first must buy watch on our list. Rolexs and Breitling are the usual suspects, but to jump-start a watch collection, a Monaco is a unique and worthy choice. We prefer the blue chronograph and there are many other color schemes to choose from. This runs on a TAG Heuer Calibre 12 automatic movement at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The power reserve on this watch is 40 hours.
