Google Nexus 5

Nexus-branded smartphones are different from your Samsung Galaxy and Sony Xperia devices for one reason: they’re made in tight collaboration with Google. For the last two years, LG has had the honor of being the official Nexus smartphone partner.

Last year’s Nexus 4 was unprecedented in features and price (only $299 for an unlocked 8GB model). This year, LG and Google have dialed everything up a few notches with the Nexus 5, starting at $349 for a 16GB unlocked model.

Based off the powerful LG G2, the Nexus 5 sports a 4.95-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution display, 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera and 2,300mAh battery that’s good for up to 17 hours of talk time. Built-in wireless charging, NFC, Bluetooth LE and LTE round out the Nexus 5’s connectivity features.

The Nexus 5 is also the first smartphone to run Google’s newest Android 4.4 KitKat (yes, KitKat, like the chocolate bar). For the cleanest, un-bloated Android experience, you can’t go wrong with a product with Google’s full stamp of approval.
