The Ludlow clothing line by J. Crew is their modern business attire and they have recently added shoes to the line. Ludlow shoes aren’t cheap at $300, but they are built with quality in mind. The leather used for the shoes comes from an Italian tannery that uses a vegetable process on the calfskin leather and they source the remaining materials from the U.S., like the welting. The most important part of this shoe is the durable and easy to repair Goodyear welt construction. There are two styles, wingtip and plain-toe bluchers that come in a few different colors. We’re not overly impressed with the style, but the construction is arguably the best a shoe can get.
