Mophie Space Pack for iPhone 5 and 5s

For power users, even 64GB of internal storage and tons of cloud storage options from a number of high-quality services isn’t enough. We not afraid to admit it, but we max out our 64GB iPhone 5 regularly with 1080p HD videos and 8-megapixel photos. Until Apple bumps the storage option up to 128GB, the only seamless solution appears to be Mophie’s upcoming “Space Pack.”

The Space Pack is essentially the company’s Juice Pack Air for iPhone 5/5s, with additional built-in storage. The 1700mAh battery still charges up iPhone 5/5s when its low, but with the company’s free Space app, you can store and manage documents, music, videos and other files from the Space Pack’s internal storage.

In theory, the idea is perfect for users who find themselves always running out of storage on their iPhone 5/5s. However, it’s not as seamless as it appears. For example, you won’t be able to play a song you have stored on the Space Pack from within the default Music app. Everything stored on the Space Pack can only be accessed using the Space app. You also can’t install apps to the Space Pack; the add-on’s storage is strictly for storing other file types.

Still, if more local storage is something you absolutely need, then you can preorder a Space Pack in black or white for shipping on March 14. A 16GB Space Pack will cost $149.95 and a 32GB Space Pack will cost $179.95. Nobody ever said extra storage was cheap.
