Dr. Martens Eduardo Shoe

Dr. Martens are known for their 1460 boot which is well-built and tough, and we’ve found other great shoe designs by them. One design we like is the Eduardo shoe which is a slender high-top casual sneaker. While all Dr. Martens boots are made with a Goodyear welt construction, the Eduardo is made with a sidewall stitch. This construction means the sole is stitched and cemented to the base of the upper and to the insole rather than the upper and insole sewed together (Goodyear) or simply nailed in like other cheap constructions. This casual shoe has a sturdy build and we’ve found the insole is so strong that it doesn’t give much when walking. One could argue the shoe is too stiff, but after a few months the soles start to break-in. The upper is made with burnished Wyoming leather that stands up well to the cold weather and wind. The Eduardo is a good alternative to the popular 1460 and 1461.
