Barnes & Noble’s NOOK tablets are getting a second chance at life. The book company is partnering up with Samsung for a special version of the Galaxy Tab 4 tablet with customized NOOK software. By teaming up with Samsung, Barnes & Noble gets to combine excellent hardware with its reading-friendly software. Great for voracious readers.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK will have access to over 3 million books, magazines and newspapers in the NOOK ecosystem.
The 7-inch tablet itself is solid on its own: 1280 x 800 resolution display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD card) and 3-megapixel rear/1.3-megapixel front camera.
$179 gets you in the door. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK will be available in August in the U.S.
