It’s easy to find good shirts and great shirts, but it’s harder to find excellent shirts — shirts that go above and beyond in fit, material quality and attention to details. Life’s too short to look like everyone else walking down the street. A button down shirt is so, dare we say, normal, that it pays off when every millimeter is considered meticulously.
At first glance, Grayers Clothiers’s shirts resemble shirts you’d find from J. Crew or Ralph Lauren. In fact, that’s not far from the mark: the company was founded by Peter Georgiou, a 10-year Ralph Lauren vet, and Kenny Thomas, its creative director also served 13 years at RL as the VP of Concept Design. Georgiou says the company was built upon the inspiration of young men switching from three-piece suits to gray flannel trousers (called Grayers) during the 1950s in Britain.
Detail-oriented gents will instantly understand it’s not another shirt off the rack. From the label to the stitching to the lining of the collars, it’s obvious a ton of care went into designing Grayers’ shirts.
