Fujifilm X30

With Photokina around the corner, it’s definitely new camera announcement season. Fujifilm’s new X30 succeeds the previous X20 with a redesigned magnesium alloy body, a 3-inch 920k dot LCD that tilts, an electronic viewfinder and improved battery life.

Aside from the addition of a “Classic Chrome” mode which will simulate the “muted tones and deep color reproduction” of film, the imaging specs remain the same: 12-megapixel 2/3-inch sensor and 28-112mm f/2.0-f/2.8 lens.

It’s going to be really interesting to see how this compares to the Sony RX100 Mark III, which has a larger 1-inch image sensor, retractable electronic viewfinder and 20.1-megapixels.

The Fujifilm X30 will be released later this month.
