In addition to the new Moto X and Moto 360 smartwatch, Motorola’s also launching a revamped Moto G. The Moto G is Motorola’s best-selling smartphone ever. And now it’s even better. Retaining its $179.99 unlocked price, the second-generation Moto G boasts a larger 5-inch display (albeit same 1280 x 720 resolution), stereo front-facing speakers, 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
The new Moto G also has a microSD card slot (for an additional 32GB) to accompany the 8GB of internal storage. It runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat and is guaranteed to be updated to the new Android L later this year.
Everything else is the same: 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 2070 mAh battery. It’s far from the highest-performing smartphone, but it makes a great travel device that you wouldn’t cry about if you lost it.
Like last year’s Moto G, the new model also comes with a variety of swappable covers and flip cases in a rainbow of colors.
