Sony RX100 II

Rounding out the week of new lust-worthy Sony gadgets is the Sony RX100 II. Who says you need an interchangeable lens camera or DSLR to crank out stunning photos? Last year’s RX100 shot to popularity with its incredible low-light and low aperture performance, and this year Sony is upping its game with the improved RX100 II. Think of the RX100 II as the sister to the RX100, not a replacement.

New to the RX100 II is an entirely new 20.2-megapixel Exmor R 1.0-inch sensor, built-in Wi-Fi, NFC, a 3-inch display that now tilts up to an 84 degree angle, and down to 45-degrees, a hotshoe up top for accessories, ISO 160-12800 and 1080p HD video recording at 24 frames per second.

It looks like Sony just raised the bar for compact point and shoots once again. The RX100 II will be available next month. For what it’s worth,t he RX100 isn’t going to be discontinued; at $649.99 it’s still the best compact camera on the market.
