Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung’s Android dominance continues. The Galaxy S5 is the successor to the Galaxy S4, the current king of Android. Everything’s been revamped on the S5.

At first glance, the Galaxy S5 looks pretty similar to the Galaxy S4. It has a similar plastic design, except the rear is now a faux-textured leather (like those of a motorcycle glove) with dot perforations to give it added grip.

The smartphone packs a 5.1-inch (1920 x 1080 resolution) display, 2.5GHz quad-core processor, options of 32GB/64GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera and 2,800mAh battery.

The three key selling points of the Galaxy S5 is its built-in finger sensor, heart rate detector, and water-resistant construction. Following Apple and HTC, the Galaxy S5 also includes a fingerprint sensor that lets you slide your finger just above the home button down to unlock the device or make purchases in certain apps. The back flash also doubles as a heart rate detector when you place your finger above it. (Pretty neat.)

All in all, the Samsung Galaxy S5 looks like a solid update to an already solid smartphone if you can get over the plastic silver edges.
