Microsoft’s Windows 8-powered Surface Pro, Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 are still hanging around as the tablet/laptop hybrid best suited for getting work done.

Surface users are in luck because Microsoft is releasing the Power Cover, a keyboard with an extended battery that will give the tablet up to 70 percent extra battery life. Based on the 8-9 hours of average Surface Pro, Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 battery life, we’re looking at an additional 5-6 hours of battery life depending on your usage.

As we know all too well, work days no longer last eight hours with an hour of uninterrupted lunch. We need our devices to last longer than a full work day or for a trip across the globe. For power users, the 9.75mm thick Power Cover, which only weighs 0.55 pounds is going to be a godsend.
