Olympus is joining the selfie craze. The newly announced E-PL7 is the latest in the PEN family. It’s still a Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera with a 16.05-megapixel Live MOS sensor and 3-axis VCM image stabilization system.
All of the best features you’ve come to know and love from the PEN and OM-D family are in the E-PL7, including the 81-point FAST AF autofocus system, 8 frames per second continuous shooting.
The star of the camera (aside from its gorgeous retro design) is its 3-inch 1.04 million-dot touchscreen, which now flips downward 180-degrees — for those inevitable selfies. Olympus also added a cool “smart” feature: when an electronic zoom lens is attached, the camera will automatically zoom out to the widest angle so you can fit everyone in.
Built-in Wi-Fi for use with the Olympus Image Share app tops the E-PL7’s desirability off.
The E-PL7 will be available in September for $699.99 with the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 14.-42mm f/3.5-f/5.6 II R lens in black or silver. The body itself will cost $599.99.
