Along with the Galaxy Note 4, Samsung also announced the Galaxy Note Edge. Like the Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy Note Edge has a 5.6-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display (2560 x 1440 resolution), but its right side also has a secondary display that over its edge, hence the name. This curved display edge can be used to display all kinds of short notifications or even menu buttons. For example, when playing a video, playback buttons can be displayed on this curved part.
Aside from its curved edge display, the Galaxy Note Edge is every bit a Galaxy Note. The phablet has a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and 8x digital zoom capable of 4K video recording, 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera, a fingerprint scanner, and a heart rate monitor.
Media nuts will appreciate the 64GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card slot) and the 3,000 mAh battery. You also get the S Pen stylus, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC.
All four U.S. carriers, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon have confirmed the Galaxy Note Edge will launch later this year.
