Leica’s joining the instant camera ranks. The company’s new Sofort instant camera ($300) will be available in three colors and takes uses Fujifilm’s Instax mini film. A Leica by mostly name (something of a trend lately, as the the brand is licensed out to other hardware makers), the Sofort bests even Fujifilm’s full-featured Instax Mini 90 from a few years ago.
The Sofort several modes including a selfie mode (very important these days), macro, bulb, automatic, self timer, party and people, sport and action and double exposure.
Whoever said printing photos was dead was so wrong. Instant photos are back and they’re unlikely to be going away. If anything, Leica’s Sofort is an admission that they’re more popular than ever.
